Funding Support for Texas Organizations

Good news! Tio Toto is a proud member of the Texas Commission on the Arts 2026-2028 Texas Touring Roster. Eligible Texas organizations may receive funding support for up to 50% of Tio Toto's performance fee through the TCA Performance Support grant program. Many Texas libraries, schools, museums, cities, and nonprofit organizations may qualify for funding support when booking Tío Tóto through the Texas Commission on the Arts Texas Touring Roster.

What is the Texas Touring Roster?

The Texas Touring Roster connects Texas schools, libraries, museums, and nonprofit organizations with professional artists for performances, workshops, and residencies throughout the state. Tío Tóto is a member of the Texas Commission on the Arts Texas Touring Roster, a statewide directory of vetted professional artists and arts organizations available for performances, workshops, and residencies throughout Texas.

What Tío Tóto Programs May Be Eligible?

Is Applying Difficult?

No. The program is designed to be accessible for first-time applicants, and Texas Commission on the Arts staff are available to help organizations throughout the process. A SAM UEI number is not required, and TCA staff are happy to assist applicants every step of the way.

How Is Funding Calculated?

Depending on the booking fee and available state funding:

  • Organizations enter the contracted artist fee into the application, and the Texas Commission on the Arts calculates the eligible award amount. Awards may cover up to 50% of artist fees, depending on the total contract amount and available funding.

  • The program uses a sliding scale for larger engagements

  • Maximum support is currently $8,000

How Texas Performance Support Funding Works

1. Contact Tío Tóto
Reach out to discuss your event, preferred dates, audience size, and program options.

2. Confirm Your Booking Details
Together, we'll determine:

  • Date and location

  • Program type (concert, workshop, residency, etc.)

  • Artist fee

  • Technical requirements


3. Contact the Texas Commission on the Arts
Contact TCA to confirm your organization's eligibility and ask any questions about the application process. The Texas Commission on the Arts staff are happy to assist first-time applicants.

4. Create Your TCA Application Account
If you're a first-time applicant, set up your account in the TCA Fluxx portal. This process can take up to five business days, so plan ahead.

5. Submit Your Performance Support Application
Submit your application using the agreed-upon program details and artist fee.

6. Receive Your Award
Following approval by the Texas Commission on the Arts and completion of required paperwork, eligible organizations receive their Performance Support award from TCA.

7. Present the Program
Host your Tío Tóto performance, workshop, or residency.

8. Complete Final Reporting
Submit required documentation and reports to TCA after the activity is completed.
